Black River-Chippewa Valley-West Central WWOA Chapter Conference

March 3, 2018 @ 8:00 am - 3:00 pm

$30 – $40

The Spring 2018 Wisconsin Woodland Owners Association (WWOA) Conference hosted by the Black River, Chippewa Valley and West Central WWOA chapters will take place on Saturday, March 3rd. Join local experts who will share their knowledge of the latest woodland management information with you.

The conference begins with representatives from 4 Control, Inc., who will highlight the proper identification and control of woodland invasive species that may be infesting your property. Then in a discussion styled after the World Café format, you will learn from local experts about:

Why wildlife need young woodlands
How to establish pollinator habitat
How to navigate land ownership succession and estate planning
How to produce maple syrup

A representative from the Wisconsin DNR’s forestry division will then discuss the division’s strategic realignment process and new information on woodland insects and diseases you should know about. In the afternoon, the program will focus on the harvesting of wood products. Topics to be discussed include:

Planning your timber harvest
Understanding your timber harvesting contract
Implementing and supervising your timber harvest

A panel of expert speakers will also answer your questions about the proper harvesting of trees on your land. This is a great opportunity to get to know other woodland owners and share your experiences. Professional foresters and woodland management contractors will also be available to discuss your issues and answer your many questions.

Please register now. The registration fee can be paid by mailing a check. For more information and how to register see the WWOA Conference Brochure.
