Workshop 1 – FINDING SUCCESS ON YOUR LAND (7-8:15 PM, 3/16/22)
Our first workshop will introduce landowners to the Land Success Project from UW-Madison. We’ll share stories from new landowners and provide lessons learned from our research. This workshop will focus on setting realistic goals for your land and
working with others to achieve them
Guest speakers include new Wisconsin landowners, UW-Madison Extension agriculture and natural resources educators, representatives from WI Women in Conservation, WI Woodland Owners Association, the Driftless Area Land Conservancy and more!
Workshop 2 – UNDERSTANDING THE LAND—SOIL, WATER AND HABITAT TYPES (7-8:15 PM, 3/23/22)
The second workshop will provide an overview of physical resources and habitats that make up your land. We’ll focus on the relationships between soil, water, plants and animals and how they may impact your goals for your property.
Guest speakers include representatives from the WI Wetlands Association, UW Extension Lakes, UW-Madison Extension Wildlife, Pheasants Forever, The Ruffed Grouse Society, NRCS and more!
Workshop 3 – MANAGING THE LAND—FORESTS, FARMS AND FUN (7-8:15 PM, 3/30/22)
The final workshop will aim to provide a holistic lens for multi-use land management. We’ll look at forestry, farming and recreational land uses like hunting, hiking and wildlife viewing, and we’ll connect with some of the people and organizations that can help make your vision a reality.
Guest speakers include representatives from DNR forestry, WI Dept. of Trade and Consumer Protection, WI Tree Farm Committee, UW-Madison Extension Wildlife, Wisconsin’s Grazing Team, the Savanna Institute, NRCS and more!
