WI Master Naturalist Volunteer Training Program

June 10, 2019 - June 15, 2019

REGISTER FOR THE WISCONSIN MASTER NATURALIST VOLUNTEER TRAINING PROGRAM AT TREES FOR TOMORROW

Eagle River, WI – Trees For Tomorrow (TFT) will host a Wisconsin Master Naturalist Volunteer Training for the public from June 10-15, 2019. The Wisconsin Master Naturalist program is a network of well-informed citizen volunteers dedicated to conservation education and service in Wisconsin communities.

Participants will join TFT staff and regional experts in a week-long exploration of the waters, forests, wildlife and geology that makes the Northwoods so unique. This training session will specifically focus on ecology in northern Wisconsin.

“I highly recommend this program for those interested in learning more about Wisconsin’s natural resources and how to make a difference in the community through volunteer service with environmental education programs, citizen science projects and stewardship efforts,” said Melanie Stewart-Clarke, coordinator of the program at TFT. “This is a great program to learn and get involved with sustainably managing natural resources in your community.”

The program will be held at Trees For Tomorrow in Eagle River, WI. The schedule is from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday, and concludes at noon on Saturday. The cost is $275 per student, and includes 40 hours of instruction, materials, five field trips along with transportation, and a continental breakfast and homemade lunch each day. Lodging is available in our on-site dorms for an additional $30 per night.

“Anyone in Wisconsin who is 18 years or older is eligible to become a trained Wisconsin Master Naturalist Volunteer,” Stewart-Clarke said. “In addition to the 40-hour course, participants are asked to volunteer 40 hours throughout the state and take eight additional training hours annually to maintain certification as a Wisconsin Master Naturalist Volunteer.”

Registration is available online at wimasternaturalist.org/volunteer-course/EagleRiver2019. The last day to register is May 27, 2019.
