Women of WWOA Gathering
October 26, 2019 @ 9:00 am - 3:30 pm
2019 Fall Gathering – Registration is open!
When: Saturday, October 26th | 9:00 am – 3:30 pm
Where: N9722 510th St, Wheeler, WI 54772 (Between Menomonie and Wheeler)
What: Join us for casual conversation, warm drinks, and sweets at 9:00 am with activities starting at 9:30 am. After our ‘round the table’ introductions, Jay Jordan of Jordan Forestry LLC. and Sally will lead a walking tour around the property. We will learn about how the tree farm was established, how Sally is converting from plantation to natural forests, and hear more about the ornamental trees that she has in a special plot.
After lunch, Sally will share information on the reestablishment of a native prairie, how those plants will help pollinators, and how to prevent invasive species from entering the area. If the weather cooperates, we may even spread some seeds. We will end our day by heading inside the shed to create our own Porch Pot arrangement to take home! The fun is will start about 9:00 am with check-in, coffee, and treats. Lunch is provided. We should wrap up by 3:30 pm.
What to wear: As always, Wisconsin weather is unpredictable! We will be walking around the property so wear/bring appropriate footwear and clothes to be outside in the brisk fall weather. Lunch and porch pot making will be in an unheated shed.
