Agroforestry in a Grassland Landscape Context

June 3, 2024 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm

Habitat needs of wildlife that depend on large, contiguous tracts of open lands – grassland birds and migratory Monarch butterfly in particular – is especially important in the southern Driftless Area in Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, and Minnesota. Agroforestry is an increasingly discussed agricultural practice with many benefits but when inappropriately sited can have detrimental impacts on species of federal and state concern. Siting projects with landscape context in mind is critical to supporting wildlife on working lands in a grassland landscape. Please RSVP at the website below.
