Learn About Your Land – Adams County

March 1, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

$30

Learn About Your Land is a UW-Madison Extension Forestry program intended for Wisconsin woodland owners. The series of classes introduces landowners to forestry topics and local DNR foresters.

This series of ONLINE evening classes March will feature the WI DNR forester from Adams Counties. All classes will run about 1 hour with the last 10 minutes reserved for YOUR QUESTIONS.

Session 1 – ASSISTANCE WITH YOUR WOODLAND: PEOPLE, PROGRAMS AND PLANNING
A healthy woodland requires knowledge of forestry techniques and the investment of time and money. This session will link you to the people, programs and organizations that offer technical and financial assistance for all aspects of your woodland.

Session 2 – SUCCESS WITH TREE PLANTING
This session will identify what is needed to successfully plant and nurture new trees. Learn which trees will grow best on your land, how to prepare your land, techniques for planting and how to care for newly planted trees.

Session 3 – HOW TO ATTRACT MORE WILDLIFE TO YOUR PROPERTY
Learn to enhance your woodlands to attract a variety of wildlife. This session identifies the four requirements to attracting wildlife to your land—space, water, food and shelter—as well as how you can manage your woods to improve the wildlife potential.
