Bio
As a young boy, I hunted and fished throughout the Driftless Area of Eastern Iowa. I could never get enough “time in the woods.” I took this enthusiasm for the outdoor world to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan for a forestry degree at Michigan Tech University. Since then, I have been fortunate to spend the last 30 years sharing my passion for forestry, working in all aspects of forest management, forest regeneration, and nursery production. I always enjoy meeting forest landowners, sharing time in the woods, and helping them achieve their management goals. I say, “It’s always a good day in the woods!”
There are also many cooperating foresters who are able to assist you. Cooperating Foresters are consulting foresters or industrial foresters who voluntarily enter into a cooperative agreement with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR). Consulting foresters are private-sector foresters who provide forestry services on a contract or fee basis and who represent the interests of private forest landowners.
